Description of Role
The primary responsibility of this role is to develop business and drive sales within the UK Defence Domain. The Sales Manager will be expected to identify and manage new sales opportunities from start to finish and support colleagues in the UK Military Industry Teams (Project Delivery) in the identification and prosecution of sales opportunities from existing Accounts and Projects. The Sales Manager will manage a small UK Military Sales Team and be the key UK MOD Account Holder. They are expected to generate revenue from selling our proven-solutions; primarily software as well as billable consultancy hours.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director of Military Sales 4C International and management of the UK Military Sales Team, with responsibility for UK Military Sales across the Joint, Maritime, Air and Land Domains
- Leverage market knowledge to support the development of Sector Business Plans and development of win strategies and campaign plans.
- Principal lead for UK Military Land Sector Sales as the core Domain - end-to-end sales cycle of lead generation, presales, proposals, tender management and closing of sales
- Account Management of Key UK Military Clients ensuring customer satisfaction and driving growth
- Develop relationships with UK Military clients and relevant industry partners to identify further opportunities for 4C Strategies growth
- Present and Demonstrate 4C Strategies solutions to potential clients and stakeholders
- Produce effective proposal documents, pitches/presentations and RFP responses that match 4C solutions to potential customer requirements
- Understand 4C Strategies software development & implementation process and provide input for innovation, as required
- Support the production and implementation of marketing plans and sales materials, with particular focus on the UK Military market
Required Competence and Experience
This is a mid to senior level role and would suit an established Sales/BD Manager looking for the next step. You will have an established network of key military stakeholders and Industry Partners and will need to have a clear understanding of Military Training Management and the Military approach to Training and Development. You will be familiar with current Live, Virtual and Constructive training solutions; ideally, you will have relevant experience in the planning, delivery and evaluation of British Army Collective Training.
- Proven commercial experience in a Sales/BD role in a similarly focussed organisation highly desirable.
- Ex-military and experience of working in a training requirements or delivery organisation e.g. Collective Training Branch.
- Experience with current Training Management, and Live, Virtual & Constructive Training Solutions.
- Academic degree or other relevant education (eg Military Staff College)
- Excellent presentation and communications skills
- Ability to build trust, value others, drive execution and foster innovation
- You have an established network, at the appropriate level, within the UK Armed Forces and broader Defence Sector.
We expect you to be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude. You have the ability to build trust and create good relationships with both customers and colleagues, and you will be adept at developing great teams to achieve success.
This role is based in the UK, from either or London or Warminster offices. Please note a requirement for this role is that you are able to, or have the ability to, live and work in the UK. You must have or be willing to undergo United Kingdom Security Vetting, ideally to Developed Vetting (DV) but at a minimum Security Check (SC) level.
