HR & Payroll Generalist (parental leave cover)

This is a parental leave cover position with an expected start date during autumn 2026. This is a fixed-term parental leave cover, expected to last around 12 months. The exact length may be adjusted depending on the returning employee's leave.
About the role
As an HR Generalist at 4C Strategies, you will play a central role in ensuring our day-to-day HR operations function efficiently and accurately. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient HR operations while contributing to a positive employee experience.
This is a broad and hands-on role covering key HR processes such as onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, payroll, HR systems, compliance, and employee relations.
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be an important part of the HR team and contribute to building scalable, effective, and employee-focused HR practices across the business.
Key responsibilities
• Manage all administration related to pre-boarding, onboarding, and offboarding for employees in Sweden, the UK, the USA, and Australia.
• Prepare employment contracts, certificates, and other employee-related documentation.
• Own and run the monthly payroll process for approximately 100 employees in Sweden.
• Act as a superuser for Sympa and Hogia, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee data across other internal systems (finance, time reporting etc.)
• Support managers and employees with HR-related questions, policies, systems, and processes.
• Support annual compensation reviews and salary mapping activities.
• Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR policies, process documentation, and employee-facing materials.
• Ensure employee records and HR data are accurate, compliant, and well maintained.
• Coordinate with external partners and vendors.
• Contribute to improving HR processes, systems, and ways of working to support a growing international organization.
• Support recruitment activities as needed, including interview coordination, candidate communication, and onboarding administration.
About you
You are organized, detail-oriented, and enjoy working in a role where administration, coordination, and accuracy are key. You are someone who naturally creates structure, follows through on tasks, and takes ownership of ensuring things get done.
You enjoy supporting others and building strong relationships, but you are equally comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities at once.
We believe you bring
• Relevant education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar operational HR role.
• Experience coordinating payroll processes in Sweden.
• Solid understanding of Swedish employment law and HR best practices.
• Experience working with HR systems and maintaining employee records and HR data.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently.
• High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.
• Fluency in both Swedish and English, written and spoken.
Desirable
• Experience processing payroll in Sweden.
• Experience working with Hogia Payroll.
• Experience with the HRIS platform Sympa.
• Experience working in an international organization.
